We’ve been here for many years at the Coach house and have built up a network of people who we work closely with. Personal recommendation is the best way to find a good tradesman, sites like this are useful for us near Derby with trades for locals, reading articles online helps of course, and visiting and reading reviews on problem solved like here can help to gain a lot of people’s opinions about which companies stand out above the rest. It doesn’t really matter which trade you are employing, from painters and decorators, carpet fitters, plasterers to installers of lighting getting the right person who will do a good job is essential.

We spent a good while researching specialist trades for niche work such as working with original coving in the property as well as getting the right paints for heritage colours. When we approach an interior design project we will generally look to treat the room as a whole, specialising in period properties and renovations, so we will try and match the original colours, materials and paints to how the property would have been when it was first built. Again we’ll research papers and articles like this one and see where is best to buy the materials specifically for the teask we are working on and the results are fabulous as you can see from our various images of rooms we have like the main design studio here.

Our clients right to choose their own tradesman is paramount and if you like working with a particular builder or trade then we will of course respect that with any project, the main element for us is if we are project managing your renovation that we can get all of the trades to work together and coordinate times on site as this is vital to the smooth running and success of any project. If the plumber is needed on a particular day so that pipes can be laid then the carpet fitter will be in the next day to lay over the carpets, we cannot have delays from any tradespeople as you can appreciate.

We work well as a team and as you can see from our pictures of the lounge it’s an inspiration to work here! We used shutters that we saw on TV for our windows which really set the pace off perfectly and give us the kind of flavour we encourage with our clients. We work well as a team and as you can see from our pictures of the lounge it’s an inspiration to work here! We used shutters that we saw on TV for our windows which really set the pace off perfectly and give us the kind of flavour we encourage with our clients. We read up on a range of articles from around the world from interior designers who inspire us like this one from Katy Elliot design specialist.

Smart, simple and stylish, fully functional room with a not entirely utilitarian approach to the interior decor. We researched loads of different companies to fit out coach house. CLICK HERE to read up about choosing the right tradespeople for your interior.

The views and vista from the lounge are simply breathtaking and the coach house heart in this case is this living room, not traditionally the kitchen. We took a lot of care with the renovation of this room matching the new fixtures with what we perceived to be the original elements when the property was built. The lounge is a great size for our design studio being around 25 meters square, this affords us the luxury of separate cubicles which are divided by original screens we picked up at auction. Auctions are a great place to find custom products for any interior . You can find lists of auctioneers from sites like this so there’s just the time required to get out, grab a catalogue and get your own home filled with original or antique reproductions to make your space perfect. If you want to ask us about our living room design studio, pay us a visit or simply have a cup of coffee with us we’ll be delighted to hear from you. Drop us a line here.
